Here's what you can expect when you come to your appointment:
I work out of my home, by appointment. This means I can offer flexible scheduling: daytimes, evenings and Saturdays. I also have a designated room for fittings.
If you need a dress hemmed, please bring the shoes you will be wearing with it. This helps to ensure an accurate length. It is also helpful to bring the undergarments you plan to wear as these can cause minor changes in the way a dress fits.
I generally recommend starting your wedding dress alterations about 3 months before your wedding date, although any length-related adjustments can be done as soon as you have your shoes, and major customizations should also be started earlier to allow time for design work and to source materials. If the alteration or my schedule will not permit me to work within your time frame, I will let you know before you hand the garment over to me. If you need something soon, please see my rush order policy here.
Most wedding dresses require 3 fittings on average. Major customizations or custom pieces may take an extra fitting or two. You will get a firm quote at the first fitting after we have discussed the changes that need to be made, as well as a timeline for future fittings. If you’d like a free estimate before you bring the dress in, you can send me a photo or the designer and style name.
When you pick your dress up, you are encouraged to try it on one more time, to make sure that everything is according to your fit and preferences before you leave. If you take it home and realize that something is not right, please contact me as soon as possible to have it fixed. If the fault is mine, the fix is free.
I take cash, check, Venmo and credit/debit cards. Payment is due in full at the final fitting. For custom items, a 30% deposit is required at the mock-up fitting.
And if you ever have any questions, concerns or helpful feedback, don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your business!
